On June 6th, 2023, the Company’s Partner Conference was held at Metro Store in Almaty. This event brought together more than 30 major food producers and distributors.
Last year METRO Kazakhstan underwent a large-scale of transformation at all levels. Now METRO Kazakhstan is the largest wholesale supplier on the market cooperating with the following three key customer groups: HoReCa, international fast-food chains and traders (convenience stores). METRO is currently presented in 10 regions of Kazakhstan and operates through 12 multi-purpose warehouses.
The Conference attendees were presented with the company’s new wholesale strategy and successful cases. The Conference was mainly focused on the opportunities that METRO offers to its partners: cost optimization, sales increase through new channels, analytics exchange, etc.
CEO METRO Kazakhstan Natalya Markhiyeva shared, “Currently, the focus of our work is mainly on delivery. Every day METRO delivers around 1,000 orders of our business customers. Our transition to a wholesale strategy is already showing results: key indicators increased by 28% compared to last year. Furthermore, suppliers who have adopted our strategy are growing 7 times faster than those who treat us as a traditional retailer.”
Representatives of Citi Bank Kazakhstan and Smart Satu took the floor at the Conference and presented their special financial instruments and digital solutions related to suppliers.
