TEATRO89 – the multi-genre theatre under the artistic direction of co-founders Frank Valdes and Galina Kiryan presents Once In Havana – a musical theater production full of dance.
Galina Kiryan, the KIMEP alumna, is currently co-founder, artistic director and actress of TEATRO89, playing the lead role in the production.
The story is a kaleidoscope of memories about Cuba based on an original script by Frank Valdes (Kazakhstani director and dancer of Cuban descent). The script was written by Frank in Spanish and adapted into English by Galina.
The English version of the show premieres in Almaty on February 22, 2025 at 7:00 PM in the Orken studio at 38 Abdulliny St.

The plot revolves around gifted musicians who became founders of Cuban and Latin American music and shared their sounds all over the world.
This is a story about love that is not tied to a place and does not end.
