Kazakhstan becomes the first country where Messe Frankfurt has launched its new Comtrux brand

Today, the official opening ceremony of two major international industry exhibitions – Comtrux Astana 2026
and Eurasian Construction Technology Astana 2026 — took place at the International Exhibition Center “EXPO”.
Kazakhstan has become the first country where a new international project dedicated to commercial and special-purpose vehicles, logistics and related solutions has been launched under licence from Messe Frankfurt. This milestone is significant not only for industry participants, but also for Kazakhstan’s image as a key business, transport and logistics platform in Central Asia and along the Middle Corridor.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Industry and Construction, the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Akimat of Astana, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, industry associations and unions, as well as leading manufacturing companies from the region.
The international status of the exhibition and the interest of foreign countries in Kazakhstan were further highlighted by the participation of representatives of the embassies of Germany, Uzbekistan, Portugal, Belarus, Estonia, Ukraine, Türkiye, Serbia, Canada, India, Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia.
The exhibitions brought together more than 147 companies from ten countries on one platform, including leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, trailers, road construction and special-purpose equipment, digital fleet management solutions, telematics, zero-emission technologies and logistics services.
The exhibition also features two national pavilions: China and Uzbekistan.
This is particularly relevant amid the strengthening integration of Central Asia into the Eurasian transport chain and the Trans-Caspian Corridor.
Alongside the transport-focused exhibition, the venue is also hosting Eurasian Construction Technology Astana 2026 (ECT), an exhibition of construction machinery and equipment. The overlap in target audiences enables businesses to address their needs in an end-to-end format — from procuring heavy dump trucks to implementing digital fleet management systems.
In his welcoming remarks, Talgat Lastayev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted:
“Logistics is one of the key priorities set by the Head of State. Located at the intersection of key routes linking Europe, Asia, the CIS and the Persian Gulf, Kazakhstan is consistently turning its transit potential into concrete results.
Comtrux Astana and Eurasian Construction Technology are exactly the kind of platform where the state, business and technology come together, and where the agenda for the country’s transport industry is shaped for the years ahead.”
Michael Johannes, Vice President of Messe Frankfurt, highlighted the historic significance of the ceremony: “Today, Messe Frankfurt’s international platform is launching an exhibition under the new Comtrux brand. We chose Kazakhstan deliberately: the Middle Corridor has become a strategic priority of high importance for Europe and Germany, and Kazakhstan lies at its very heart.
Kazakhstan is confidently strengthening its status as a transit and logistics hub of continental significance, and for Messe Frankfurt it is a great honour to be part of this journey and to work hand in hand with the Government, the industry and international partners on the next steps of this development.”
In his address, Olzhas Saparbekov, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasised the importance of the exhibitions for the industry: “Infrastructure development, the launch of new production facilities and the implementation of key projects directly depend on modern machinery, efficient logistics and resilient supply chains. These are precisely the areas brought together by Comtrux Astana and Eurasian Construction Technology Astana, creating opportunities for cooperation, contract signing and access to new markets.”
Anuar Malik, Director of Business Media Central Asia, thanked the guests
and partners and underlined the role of the exhibitions in economic development:
“Behind this event is the extensive joint work of our partners, relevant ministries, foreign delegations and more than 147 participating companies from ten countries.
Today, Kazakhstan is no longer just a market; it is a fully-fledged business platform for the region, where technologies, investments and solutions for the whole of Central Asia converge. As organisers, our task is to ensure that each day of these exhibitions turns into real contracts, investments and partnerships for domestic business.”
The business programme of the exhibitions is built around the key challenges facing the industry. Together with relevant ministries and industry associations, participants will discuss concessional leasing and fleet renewal, localisation of production, digitalisation of logistics, measures to address the shortage of qualified personnel, the development of transport and logistics corridors, and the integration of Central Asian markets. Dedicated sessions will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in logistics, the development of charging and service infrastructure, as well as approaches to training industry professionals.
The programme includes panel discussions, company presentations, B2B negotiations, thematic tours of the exhibition and agreement signing ceremonies.
