On June 8, 2023, the 35th Plenary Session of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was held. This year the meeting was dedicated to the digital transformation of the economy and its importance in the development of the country’s competitiveness in the world market.
Erlan Dosymbekov, EY Managing Partner for the Caucasus and Central Asia, moderated the meeting. For the first time, EY was represented by Julie Teigland, Managing Partner of EY in the EMEIA region. Active in shaping the global Women20 agenda, Julie promotes women’s empowerment and believes that women in STEM are critical to any country’s progress. She is very enthusiastic about digitalization and innovation and sees the potential of Kazakhstan in promoting sustainable development. As a prime example of women’s leadership, Julie sees the importance of creating opportunities for women and creating a brighter future using technology. For those purposes the EY STEM App was developed to help schoolgirls around the world master skills in science, engineering, and math through fun activities in a playful way.
