Along with the production and sale of cigarettes, PMI is building the future on smoke-free products to the benefit of adult smokers and society. In 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized marketing of IQOS as a modified risk tobacco product.
PMI has invested over $520 million in Kazakhstan and is proud of the fact that, with the acquisition of Almaty Tobacco Factory in 1993, the company became one of the first foreign investors in Kazakhstan. Today, PMK employs around 800 people. Company has spent more than $16 million on the employees’ professional development. Over the past 30 years, PMK has contributed around $9 million to community support programs, focusing on socio-economic development of rural areas.
