GRATA International is happy to welcome back our colleague Aliya Aralbayeva. Aliya has been with us from 2006 until 2015 starting as a lawyer and moving her way up to becoming a partner. Aliya has been GRATA International leading practitioner in our London hub and first point of contact for our European clients.
Aliya is an asset to our firm and we are delighted that she re-joins. Aliya will join GRATA International as a partner and UK representative in London from 1 January 2023.
Aliya has a significant experience working on corporate, commercial, finance legal matters and as a leading practicioner of Global mobility, employment & immigration practices. Over the years she’s built an extensive network of contacts in the City of London, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, financial services, legal and emerging markets sectors.
Her career in the UK started in 2002 when she joined medium sized recruitment business as an HR consultant. Within 2 years she became HR manager, her employer sponsored her UK work permit.
She later moved on to work as foreign lawyer in the corporate finance team of the UK law firm, now one of the largest global legal practices.
More recently she had an experience leading an employment & immigration legal practice of one of the Big 4 accounting firms Almaty office and quickly achieved a significant visibility of her practice on legal services market.
Her most recent role was in regulatory affairs team of Kazakhstan’s largest oil venture. She was responsible for reviewing material requisition contracts and conformity of supplies to EAC Technical regulations, and coordinating certification processes with logistics, supplier qualification system, engineering teams.
She has recently become visible as she set up a Medical Life Lines Ukraine charity, which sent 16 aid-filled ambulances to Ukrainian hospitals, grows fast and receives incredible support from London based communities and UK professional circles.
